We are a Christian church in the evangelical tradition. Our faith shapes everything we do — from Sunday worship to weekday outreach.

What We Believe

Our core beliefs

These foundational truths unite our church family and guide our ministry.

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — creator of heaven and earth, and the source of all life and love.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God — fully God and fully man. His life, death on the cross and resurrection are the heart of the good news we proclaim.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God's inspired Word — trustworthy, authoritative, and our guide for faith and everyday life.

Salvation by Grace

We believe salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ — not earned by works, but freely given to all who believe.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit lives in every believer — comforting, guiding and empowering us to live and serve like Jesus.

The Church

We believe the church is God's family — a community called to worship together, care for one another, and serve the world in Jesus' name.

New to church or exploring faith? Here are answers to questions we hear often.

Do I need to be a Christian to attend?

Not at all. Everyone is welcome at our gatherings — whatever you believe, wherever you are from, and whatever your story. Come as you are; you will be welcomed as a friend.

What happens at a weekly service?

Our weekly gatherings include contemporary and traditional worship, prayer, a message from the Bible, and plenty of time for friendship over morning tea. Services are relaxed and family-friendly.

Is your church accessible for people with disability?

Yes. Serving people with disability is a core part of our charity's mission. Please contact us before your visit so we can make any arrangements needed to welcome you well.

How can I get help from the church?

If you or your family are facing hardship — financial difficulty, housing stress, unemployment or isolation — please reach out on 0410 776 397 or info@friendschurchsydney.com. As a registered charity, care is at the centre of what we do.

What are the annual retreats?

Once a year our whole church family gets away together for a retreat — a few days of worship, teaching, rest and fun. Assistance is available for anyone who could not otherwise afford to attend.
